Jim and Pete
were originally Hoosiers from Marion, Indiana. In 1973, they and a group of fellow graduates from Ball State University headed
west to the Greenhorn Valley. In 1978,
they started Ryval Construction. It was primarily a framing
company from the spring of 1979 through summer of 1981 as
Pete and Jim framed close to 100 homes in Pueblo County. Ryval's focus turned from framing to general contracting and
from the start, the main goal of the business was quality
craftsmanship, cost effectiveness, energy efficiency and
attention to detail. From
1981-2000, they
were general contractors on 22 homes and 18 remodel projects.
Ryval became
incorporated in the spring of 2000 and has continued to
focus on energy efficient design. Careful consideration of south orientation, passive solar
applications, window options, insulation and ventilation
combine to create a home that is comfortable and efficient. Since 2000,
seven of the nine homes they have built have used ICF
construction. All of them utilize state of the art heating,
cooling and energy efficient design. As new products and
construction methods have evolved, Ryval has incorporated
these into the building process.
Our mission is
to partner with our clients, designing and creating their
vision--cost effective construction with specific emphasis
on a low carbon footprint.
